Vee?? Wtf???

Uh, so I don't like Vee's canon design, mostly her palette. A green palette could work, sure, but her specific palette is not good. Primarily because the two shades of green are almost exactly the same value (which makes them blend together), but also because it makes her look much more like a computer than a TV. Besides the colours, it kind of bothers me that she (and many other toons) are basically completely naked.

So I wanted to take a shot at redesigning her.

Here, we have a red/blue/grey colour scheme. This just makes the most sense to me; when I think "movie" or "TV" those are the colours I think of. The red and blue are also supposed to mimic 3D glasses.

She's fully clothed, in a suit because what else would she wear. Gave her white gloves bc the light value draws attention to her hands and makes her gestures easier to understand. Her face and tail glow for the same reason. I'd have Vee's tail always showing, by the way. I do not want to know where she puts it in canon. Uh. Anyway, she has a belt chain too bc they're cool.

Will make a good drawing of this design at some point, but I'm feeling lazy tonight, so yeah.

The HTTYD universe's ecosystem must've been so damaged when all the dragons dissappeared.

"but people wanted to hurt them!" people want to hurt wolves to, but we don't send them all to an isolated cave because it would destroy the ecosystem.

In fact, "dragon" is just a collective word for multiple species so they really fucked themselves with that one.

In conclusion, the third movie was stupid.

I read the book w/ Bumble in it (I legitimately don't remember its name sob) about 4 years ago, and the way everyone treated her made me stop reading DotC because it made me so angry. I still haven't gone back to finish it and I don't know if I will tbh

The part that pissed me off the most was how Gray Wing was such a little bitch the whole time. At least at the time -- so in 2020 -- people were still mostly very fond of him. I got into several arguments about it and people didn't take me seriously, although that may have been because the people I talked with were around my age and may not have had a fully developed understanding of the issues Bumble's whole thing exemplifies. I also didn't have adequate vocab to express what was wrong with what i had read, which didn't help.

Also, the point Moonkitti makes about Bumble and weight is really interesting. It's so annoying how generally fatphobic kids' media is (thinking about Harry Potter rn).

Been designing a posable bird wing made completely out of interlocking paper, no glue or tape! My goal is to make a bird lantern similar to my koi lantern :D

The only problem now is that my laser cutter broke due to some software update by Full Spectrum Laser and they are refusing to fix it 😭When I contacted their support, they just told me to buy a new one. As if I would ever buy another laser from such a shitty company.

Anyone has a recommendation for a better laser cutter from a reputable company?
